According to Islam, practicing medicine is not just a profession but is a social obligation. Muslim healthcare workers are subjected to shariah laws and are expected to provide the best care and service towards their patients and their community as they are seeking the Pleasure of Allah SWT through their work. Only then will their effort be considered an Ibadah (amalsoleh).
Alhamdulillah, the advancement of knowledge and technology has allowed a rapid progress and vast improvement in medical treatment and modalities. Many of us have however neglected to address the spiritual aspects of patients. We need to abide by the teachings of the Quran and the Hadith which contain guidelines for a holistic approach to health.
The Islamic Hospital Consortium of Malaysia (KHIM) is organising this seminar as part of our effort to rectify this situation. May Allah SWT grant us the Hidayah and the understanding of Islam as a way of life in order for us to be the best Ummah.
The seminar and workshop will be held over 3 days. It is divided into presentations by invited speakers, concurrent workshop sessions and free paper presentations.
