This course will be divided into two parts:

Day One
1. The life of this great Imam (150 - 204 H)
2. The knowledge of Imam al-Syafi'i and his principles of Ijtihad

Day Two
1. Historical development of Syafi'i Fiqh
2. Terminology and books of Syafi'i Fiqh

In this course we will embark on a unique journey of understanding the methodology of this great Imam, its historical development and impact on the future Islamic scholarship. This will be done by studying the life of Imam al-Syafi'i, his scholarship, contribution of his student and great Syafi'i scholars in what came to be known as "Syafi'i Madzhab".

Students of knowledge/Islamic law/fiqh/usool al-fiqh are highly encouraged to attend this workshop!
